That is very sad.
(I did appreciated the Men in Tights reference though.)

Wahhh. :-( I hope the second season explains things or I'll be even more cranky about the cancellation!
Incidentally, isn't season one due out on DVD here this month? Maybe it's already out, I must go check that release date again now. :-)

It is very sad news.
This is a snippet from TV Guide Online:
CARNIE CATASTROPHE: It's official — and depressing: HBO has pulled the plug on Carnivàle. "We have decided not to renew Carnivàle," HBO entertainment prexy Carolyn Strauss said in a statement. "We feel the two seasons we had on the air told the story very well, and we are proud of what everyone associated with the show has accomplished." She's particularly proud of the way Season 2 ended on a cliff-hanger, ensuring that fans of this woefully underappreciated show would never get the closure they so desperately desire and deserve. She's doing cartwheels over that.
D-e-d dead is a favourite saying of mine. :-)
By the sounds of it, season two is just as illusive as the first.
The first season is out on DVD here on the 11th. Oh, that's yesterday!

I've never gotten around to watching it because it's on at 11.30 at night. Is it worth buying the series on DVD?

Carnivale is certainly worth a look. It's bizarre and very unique, but quite an amazing show. I got my family hooked on it and wanting more.
